Enhancing Tuberculosis Care in Southwestern Uganda: Facilitators and Barriers to Utilizing Mobile Health Technologies

Although mobile health technologies are low-cost approaches that can enhance tuberculosis care, there is a dearth of research about the facilitators and barriers regarding their utilization in enhancing public–private mix. The aim this study to explore utilizing fostering mix for care Southwestern Uganda, was qualitative involved in-depth interviews with 13 key informants (private healthcare workers) purposively selected between June July 2020 due active involvement from four private hospitals Mbarara city. An inductive content analysis approach based on constructs consolidated framework implementation used study. main were related design quality packaging, cosmopolitanism, relative advantage, networks communication, engaging these include mapping linking patients referral units; supporting patient medication adherence; reducing stigma among patients; communication facilities; improving knowledge beliefs workers as well notifying reporting cases Ugandan Ministry Health. Poor internet connections lack use interventions emerged communications; benefits intervention constructs. Mobile could by referred public hospitals.
